Transient ischemic stroke

Also termed as a mini-stroke, it is a short-lived stroke that is caused by a clot impeding the blood supply to brain tissue. It may have the same symptoms as any other stroke, the only difference being that they are short-lived. As the clot dislocates, the symptoms are relieved. However, a min-stroke is a warning that future full-blown strokes can occur as it confirms a thrombo-embolic event that needs medical attention. An emergency call to 911 is still important as a mini-stroke cannot be differentiated from other stroke types on clinical grounds.
