Poultry
Protein coming from animal source, such as poultry, highly contributes in reducing the risk of developing Alzheimer’s. Eating at least 2 servings of chicken or eggs per week will give you enough protein to maintain an optimum brain health. According to a research from Edith Cowan University, the people who consume protein-rich foods are less likely to develop higher levels of amyloid beta in their brains. Amyloid beta is a precursor for Alzheimer’s disease and it tends to elevate in the brains of those who consume less than 40 grams of protein per day. The reason behind is that the higher protein levels keep the blood pressure normal and thus there is less burden of amyloid beta.
