Rectal bleeding
Rectal bleeding is a common sign of colon cancer. Patient comes with a complain of seeing bright red blood on the toilet paper after passing the stool or red or pink water in the toilet bowl. If you are above 40 years of age, doctor will recommend colonoscopy to find the cause of bleeding. Patients above 50 are mostly suffering from colon cancer.
Around 90 percent of colon cancer is initially thought as hemorrhoids because of common symptoms such as rectal bleeding and pain in rectal region. Rectal bleeding results is massive loss of blood and this leads to low red blood cell count. It is commonly seen in hospital settings that first sign of colorectal cancer is a blood test showing picture of anemia in the patient. Visit your doctor immediately in case you are suffering from any of these symptoms as early diagnosis can result in good prognosis.
