Blood test
Blood tests cannot properly diagnose colon cancer. However, an overview of the patients’ health can be determined with the help of blood test. Blood tests are also helpful to check how the body is responding to the cancer treatment.
- CBC:
A CBC test, measure, and count the blood cells. Most of the patients are anemic when they are diagnosed with colon cancer because of the bleeding tumor. A complete blood count test can be used to find any sort of internal bleeding.
- CEA TEST:
This blood test can also be used to determine the CEA levels in the blood, which is a protein made by cancer cells. It is also termed as a tumor marker. This test also shows how the tumor is responding to the cancer treatment.
