Loss of appetite
Cancer patients suffer from loss of appetite and may eat less than normal or get full after eating a small amount of food. Loss of appetite can lead to serious complications. Weight loss, insufficient intake of nutrients and weakness from muscle loss are some of the additional problems faced by cancer patient.
Various factors play their part appetite loss in a person with colon cancer:
- Changes in metabolism of the body can cause loss of appetite.
- High calcium in blood also decrease appetite
- Medications
- Radiation therapy or surgery can further decrease desire to eat
