Significance of screening
Colon cancer mostly stems from colonic polyps which, become cancerous when not treated or diagnosed in time. This can be countered by screening process, which allows early detection of a latent condition which may give rise to cancer later in life. Polyps can be identified via colonoscopy and the desired plan of action can be set in motion.
