Anxiety Medication
Several types of medications are being used to treat anxiety. [6] These may include;
Benzodiazepines
These are tranquilizers used for treating short-term anxiety disorders. They slow down the working of the central nervous system and reduce the anxiousness. Hence, our body feels relieved, more relaxed both physically and mentally. Some drugs consisting of benzodiazepines are Valium, Ativan and Librium etc.
Consuming these drugs on and off might cause an addiction. These drugs should only be consumed if prescribed by the doctor. Although these drugs provide relief, but have many side effects. However, the side-effects depend on the usage and dosage of such medicines.

- Vision problems
- In severe cases, they might cause seizures.
