Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors are used to treat anxiety disorders. SSRIs work by increasing the functioning of good-mood regulating brain cells. They are anti-depressants and reduce the anxiety symptoms. For some people suffering from anxiety SSRI works more effectively than SNRI.
