Most viral infections are highly contagious and HPV is no exception to this trend. A report evaluating the occurrence of HPV, sums it to 11.5% in men, as compared to 3.2% in women. [1] The same study concludes that rate of high-risk HPV is also higher among men than in women. Multiple theories suggest that newborn babies get infected during birth, while passing through the infected birth canal. The infection can also spread to babies from fomites, sexual abuse etc.
