Excision

Excision means removing the warts surgically. This treatment choice is opted for when other treatment choices, fail to produce the desired results, or in case of extensive and large warts. Genital warts can be surgically removed. This invasive procedure is done after putting the patient under local or general anesthesia. Then the warts are removed using surgical scissors, curette, or a scalpel. Common side effects and complications to this procedure are
