Caffeine, alcohol, and nicotine

The use of caffeinated beverages or drinks like coffee, tea, cola, and other beverages having caffeine in them acts as stimulants that cause a disturbance in sleep. Drinking this caffeine-containing drink at night or in the late evening keeps you awake, and you fail to fall asleep at night time. Nicotine in tobacco-containing products also stimulates the interference in your sleep-wake cycle. Alcohol, on the other hand, helps you to fall asleep at first but does not contribute to getting the sleep wave or the deep sleep. Drinking alcohol makes you awake in the middle of the night, thus disrupting your sleep schedule.
