Swallowing Chewing Gums

Although this is more common in children to swallow chewing gums, it happens in adults too. If a person mistakenly swallows certain pieces of the chewing gum, it surely contributes to constipation. The chewing gum pieces, along with other undigested foods like seeds, already present in the stomach combine and form a mass. This mass in the digestive tract causes blockage and delays the digestion, thus leading to the development of constipation.
